In 2012 Boris Van Gils and Michaël Goldberg set up BOUCAN Abidjan, a line production company based in Ivory Coast. The first production completed LES RAYURES DU ZEBRE / SCOUTING FOR ZEBRAS.
Seeing the potential of the Ivorian movie industry, they decided to make it grow and expand. The opportunities offered by the beautiful landscapes and sets available in Ivory Coast and neighboring countries are remarkable, they can elevate the production value of a film and expand their storytelling with incredible locations. Thus, the Abidjan offices are a hub that allows BOUCAN to work not only in Ivory Coast but over the whole African continent with productions shot in Congo, Senegal, and Togo to name a few.
BOUCAN Abidjan has trained many local technicians capable of welcoming international crews and responding to both their artistic threshold and logistical needs. BOUCAN is also invested in developing new African creators for movies and television.
